Pam Hoerster, an Attorney Mediator, is the first person to tell you that her life is the embodiment of the American Dream.
Adopted by parents who lived through the Great Depression and World War II, she was a trailblazer — one of the first foreign adoptions after the war. Pam was a competitive athlete for thirteen years playing basketball, including collegiate competition at The University of Texas and The University of Houston.
Pam received her Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Houston. She taught school and coached for two years prior to attending law school. She likes to say that she got extensive training in conflict management and resolution as an educator. While working full time, she received her law degree from the South Texas College of Law. Pam interned with the First Court of Appeals and the late Honorable Norman Black after her first year of law school.
Pam became a top notch litigator with extensive jury and bench trial experience on both the plaintiff and defense sides. That has given her the ability to see different perspectives in complex mediations. The first female partner in a prestigious maritime firm, she had extensive experience in complex litigation and mediation in areas like products liability, medical malpractice, commercial contracts, catastrophic explosions and exposure, Jones Act and FELA cases, and trucking and serious auto and trucking injury cases.
Opening her mediation firm in 1996, Pam is proud to have conducted over 10,000 mediations with a high success rate. With a focus on multi-party, complex litigation, that success rate stands out even more.
Pam has previously served as an adjunct professor at the University of Houston Law Center teaching civil trial advocacy, evidence and mediation to second and third year law students. She was an invited faculty member at Atlanta’s Emory Law School and is a contributing author to the “Texas Litigation Primer”.
Pam Hoerster is proud to have served as president of the Houston Chapter of Attorney Mediators and vice-chair of ADR section of the Houston Bar Association. A Distinguished Credentialed Mediator, she is a fellow in the Internal Academy of Mediators, the former chair of the Houston Bar Association ADR section, a member of the Inaugural Advisory Board for the Frank Evan Center for Dispute Resolution, and a former invited member of the American Inns of Court. She is also a sanctioned mediator for NADN in Texas and Louisiana.
While nationally recognized, Pam Hoerster has been honored locally in Texas where she began her career. She was appointed by the Galveston County District Judges to the Board of Mediation Services of Galveston County and elected President of the Mediation Association of Galveston County.
Pam enjoys gourmet cooking and wine pairing, gardening and working out through core training and boxing.
She loves to travel with her beloved Belgium Malinois, competing in the Sport of Conformation. Pam and her Goliath won Best of Breed at the 2020 Westminster Kennel Club in New York.
